You're Cordially Invited . . .

Scene & Seen: Autumn in Atlanta

Pack up your swimming trunks and bathing suits (unless you're traveling), put the picnic baskets in the garage and pull out the blankets and gloves. The season has changed and so must your social calendar. With the new season comes some of my favorite activities including awards season, football games, theatre and more "heat enducing" cocktails.

Weigh in and let me know some of your favorite things to do this time of year. I'll give you my advice on how to make sure your season is FABULOUS!

Adios!

These boots were made for walking!

The season has changed and so has our footwear needs. Check out my top five "must have" boots. Warning: I'll be very jealous if I see any of you in these before me!

. . . Secrets Are Never Safe With Me!

I hate keeping secrets! Yes, including my own. This week has been an amazing creative one for me and I have finally been able to stick a fork into my plans for my next big Social Science move. Though I won't disclose everything to you right now, I've included a few photos to set the mood until further notice. I will say, October 27 in Atlanta will be a night to remember. It's the debutante ball for "-------- -------"! (I almost told you!)

Ciao!

Cheers: Holiday Edition

Moët Hennessy has debuted their 2010 USA Holiday Gift Collection. Personally, I always love the exquisite and exciting packaging that these brands produce for the holiday to entice their "sparkle and shine" loving patrons. The luxury brand will definitely meet all high expectations with the impressive packaging for some of our favorite brands from their portfolio. Take a look and make your wish lists. I'd love to have any of these under my bar on Christmas morning!

Happy Belated Birthday . . .To Me!

Hey, I almost forgot to wish myself an official HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the blog. My bday was last week, but I'm still celebrating!

Thanks to all my beautiful family and friends that toasted and painted the town red with me!

I love you all. Cheers!

"Dancing In September" - A Tribute to Today!

Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay

Now December found the love that we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days

Any and everyone that knows me, knows that my favorite month is September. Its the most wonderful time of year to me, besides the holiday season, that includes all of my favorite things. From my birthday to fashion week, there aren't enough weeks in the month.

One of my favorite songs thats pays homage to the month is "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire. The lyrics are magical and the song, itself, is a moment.

Read the lyrics, google the song and DANCE!

Cheers to me, you and September!

Social Science, Back in Session!

Bonjour, mes amis! Of course you knew i'd be back soon. It's been a long time and so much as been going on since we last shared a moment. I decided to take a break from the blog to live and celebrate a little. Not that I couldn't do everything at the same time, but each year as I celebrate a birthday, I do a little "personal remodeling", so to speak, where I mute the music and step away from the scene to explore the science of me!

So, as of today, I am officially back and I will be bringing you up to speed on the wonderful things that I have seen, lived and learned. There's so much to catch up on....My bday, Fashion Week, Gossip Girl.....GEEZ! We need to get started!

Put on your lab coats and make sure your goggles are secure. We're going back into the lab!

Give Me The Night!

The eve of 2010's "Fashion Night Out" is upon us, and fashionistas and fashionados from Atlanta to New York are preparing to paint the town green with a great reason to shop, shop, shop!

In its first official year of participation, eyes are on Atlanta as VOGUE has officially deemed the city as a host. Designers, boutiques and retailers alike are preparing for a magical night, not soon to be forgotten.

Events will include, the grand ribbon-cutting of Estella Home in Roswell, hosted by Tameka Raymond and the launch of Mychael Knight's "Two2" dress.

I'd also like to give a big GOOD LUCK shout to my great friend Devon Scott, as he preps for his trunk show at Jeffrey New York.

Have fun and send snapshots of your experience. See you in the streets!

Happy Birthday, Camille Binder

I'd like to send a VERY SPECIAL VIRGO birthday shout-out to the most fabulous 40-year old I know, Camille Binder.

Camille celebrated her birthday in style with a private rooftop party, seductively called "Moonlight Over Morocco" in Atlanta this past weekend. The party boasted specialty faire and cocktails, all topped off with a Moet Rose toast.

Cheers to you Camille in all your fabulous and exciting splendor!

Love Always!

All You Gotta Do Is DREAM!

One of the most celebrated black Broadway productions of all time is making its way to Atlanta. Opening October 12 and running through October 17, DREAMGIRLS will dazzle crowds at Atlanta's "Fabulous" Fox Theatre.

Originally opening on Broadway on December 20, 1981 at the Imperial Theatre, the show was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards, including "Best Musical", and won six. The show was later brought to life on the silver screen by DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures, featuring an all-star cast, headlined by Beyonce Knowles.

Though not the original or the movie cast, the new cast of Dreamgirls will introduce Moya Angela as Effie White, Syesha Mercado as Deena Jones, Adrienne Warren as Lorrell Robinson, and Margaret Hoffman as Michelle Morris. The cast will also include Chaz Lamar Shepherd as Curtis Taylor, Jr, Chester Gregory as James "Thunder" Early, and Trevon Davis as C.C. White.

The show will undoubtedly be as remarkable as each reincarnation has been!

Because I am such an avid supporter of the arts, I will be giving away a pair of tickets to an evening at The Fox to experience it live, first hand. Leave a comment on the blog and let me know your wildest and most exciting dream as it relates to something you've always wanted to do.

I will select a winner and post your dream, and any magic that I might be able to make happen, on the blog.

Think big and dream bigger! I can't wait to hear from you!

Social Sneak Peek: Guess Who's Back!

Fresh out of a jail and a rehab stint, everyone's favorite "starlet" is gearing up for yet another comeback attempt.

Calling Lindsay Lohan to the screen! (Applause Please!)

Lindsay is the newest cover girl for the October issue of Vanity Fair. Channeling Grace Kelly, Lohan is beautifully demure in the most sober and drug free state that we've seen her in for quite some time.

Personally, I am a HUGE fan of La Lohan and would love for her to join Nicki Minaj, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Jasmine Guy in hosting my upcoming birthday party!

Cheers to Lindsay, a new cover, a new movie and a brand new day! Let's drink to that! On second thought, let's not!

Social Style Shout

In honor of all of the FASHIONABLE GRANDEUR that happens in September, I will do a "Social Style Shout" daily, showcasing designers, fashionistas, fashionados, style, style and more style.

Today's shout is to designer Mychael Knight and the the white jacket from his "Carte Blanche" collection, featured on the opening page of ATLANTA Magazine's September fashion spread.

Good job Mychael! Visit www.mychaelknight.com for more information on CARTE BLANCHE or follow him on twitter @MychaelKnight.

Atlanta greeted the month of September with a glitzy POP! Def Jam artist Ne Yo, continued his "Champagne Life" Event Series at the stylish MF Sushi restaurant in Buckhead. Sponsored by Moet Rose', the event hosted Atlanta scene staples including Ludacris, Kenny Burns, Mychael Knight, Lisa Wu-Hartwell and a host of the other "popular people".
