Super Producer Polow Da Don, known for producing chart-topping hits for A-List stars including Usher, Ludacris, Fergie, Ciara and his own musical protégé and artist, Keri Hilson along with music executive Mia A. Welsh (General Manager of Zone 4, Inc.) have teamed up with the American Cancer Society to host the 3rd Annual "Cancers 4 a Cause: Where Music Meets Fashion For A Cure."
"Cancers 4 a Cause" is an annual initiative sponsored byFoundation F.O.C.U.S., a non-profit organization designed to instill a desire for education, interpersonal skills, networking and marketability within our youth. Founded in 2009 by Polow Da Don (Zone 4, Inc. CEO) and Mia Welsh (General Manager of Zone 4, Inc.), the foundation provides assistance through a variety of programs, seminars and panels to ensure success in producing educated, humble, talented and goal-oriented young people.
The "Cancers 4 a Cause" initiative was birthed out of need to educate the community about the growing epidemic of cancer. Statistics show that by 2011, 1 out 3 individuals will be diagnosed with some form of cancer. Joining Zone 4, Inc. and Foundation F.O.C.U.S. for this year’s benefit are The American Cancer Society, music publishing giant BMI and lifestyle publication Sister 2 Sister Magazine. Attendees will experience a foray of fashion including the exclusive Tracy Reese line as well as local boutiques and established Atlanta based designers. Celebrity models and familiar faces such as Bianca Goldenand Bre Scullark, from the America’s Next Top Model series, will also grace the catwalk.
In addition to fashion, there will also be musical performances throughout the course of the show. Performers will include Universal Music Recording newcomer, Mika Means as well as, legendary Destiny’s Child group member Michelle Williams.
In the spirit of philanthropy, Foundation F.O.C.U.S. will award trailblazers in the fields of fashion, music and community service. Those awardees include BMI Executive Catherine Brewton, Radio Personality Rashan Ali, Fashion DesignersTracy Reese and Laquan Smith.
The host for the evening will be Zone 4, Inc. recording artist and pop sensation Keri Hilson.
